Edgell's first Australian canned vegetables - asparagusThe  first Australian canned vegetables  were produced by Gordon Edgell and Sons of Bathurst, when the company launched its Edgell Asparagus. Edgell expanded to include a new cannery at Cowra in 1943 and the one millionth can of vegetables rolled off the line just one year later. The brand is now owned by Simplot.
